Randy A. FoutchChairman & Chief Executive Officer
Randy A. Foutch is our founder and has served as our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since that time. He also served as our President from October 2006 to July 2008. Mr. Foutch has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to our formation, Mr. Foutch founded Latigo Petroleum, Inc. (''Latigo'') in 2001 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer until it was sold to Pogo Producing Co. in May 2006. Previous to Latigo, Mr. Foutch founded Lariat Petroleum, Inc. (''Lariat'') in 1996 and served as its President until January 2001 when it was sold to Newfield Exploration, Inc. He is currently serving on the board of directors of Helmerich & Payne, Inc. and is a member of their Human Resources committee and Nominating & Corporate Governance committee.
Mr. Foutch is also a member of the National Petroleum Council and Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Energy Institute at the University of Texas, Austin. Previously, he served on the board of directors of Cheniere Energy, Bill Barrett Corporation and MacroSolve, Inc. Mr. Foutch also serves on several nonprofit and private industry boards. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Texas and a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston.
Mr. Foutch has been successful in founding other oil and gas companies and has served in director positions of various oil and gas companies. As a result, he provides a strong operational and strategic background and has valuable business, leadership and management experience and insights into many aspects of the operations of exploration and productions companies. Mr. Foutch also brings financial expertise to the board, including his experience in obtaining financing for startup oil and gas companies.
Richard C. ButerbaughExecutive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Richard C. Buterbaugh became Laredo's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in December 2012. He joined Laredo in June 2012 as Senior Vice President—Investor Relations. Mr. Buterbaugh has more than 35 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, planning and investor relations in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Laredo, he was Vice President—Investor Relations and Corporate Planning for Quicksilver Resources Inc. from March 2007 until June 2011, and held various financial positions at Kerr-McGee Corp. from November 1989 until its sale in August 2006, most recently serving as Vice President—Corporate Planning. Mr. Buterbaugh graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
T. Karen ChandlerSenior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
T. Karen Chandler joined Laredo in December 2012 as Director – Operations, Technology & Planning, and was promoted to Vice President – Operations in October 2016, before assuming the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in October 2018. Prior to joining Laredo, Dr. Chandler spent 15 years at ExxonMobil, working in a variety of management and technical roles in the areas of drilling, completions and technology development. These roles included operations experience in the Colorado Piceance Basin, Australia Bass Strait and Papua New Guinea. Dr. Chandler holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Kenneth E. DornblaserSenior Vice President - Legal and Administration
Kenneth E. Dornblaser joined Laredo in June 2011 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, and served in such position until August 2018, when he became Senior Vice President - Legal & Administration. Immediately prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Dornblaser was a shareholder in the Johnson & Jones law firm, which he co-founded in March 1994. Prior to co-founding Johnson & Jones, Mr. Dornblaser had been engaged in the private practice of law in Tulsa, Oklahoma, since 1980. Mr. Dornblaser graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. degree in Accounting and the University of Oklahoma where he received his Juris Doctorate degree.
Dan C. SchooleySenior Vice President—Midstream, Marketing & Subsurface
Dan C. Schooley was named Senior Vice President - Midstream, Marketing & Subsurface in October 2018 and was previsously Senior Vice President - Operations since May 2016. He joined the Company in 2007 and has served as Senior Vice President-Midstream and Marketing since February 2014, where he was responsible for the build-out and operations of Laredo Midstream Services as well as all marketing and risk management activities. Mr. Schooley has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry. Prior to joining Laredo, he was Vice President of gas supply at Superior Pipeline, Vice President of Marketing and Risk Management at Latigo Petroleum and held various positions at Oxley Petroleum. Mr. Schooley holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Oklahoma State University.
Michael T. BeyerVice President—Controller & Chief Accounting Officer
Michael T. Beyer became Laredo's Chief Accounting Officer in April 2014. He joined Laredo in September 2007 and most recently served as Controller. Mr. Beyer has more than 14 years of experience in accounting, with the majority in the energy industry. Prior to joining Laredo, he worked in the tax field and spent five years at a private energy company. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Oklahoma and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2002.
James R. CourtierVice President—Exploration and Geosciences Technology
James R. Courtier joined Laredo in August 2014 as Vice President—Exploration and Geosciences Technology. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Courtier spent eight years at Hess Corporation, most recently as Regional Subsurface Manager—Bakken, with prior roles in exploration management and strategic planning. Prior to Hess, Mr. Courtier spent 10 years at ConocoPhillips as a senior geophysicist. Mr. Courtier holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology from University of Leicester and a Master of Science in Basin Evolution & Dynamics from Royal Holloway, University of London.
Mark D. DennyVice President & General Counsel
Mark D. Denny joined Laredo in February 2013 and was promoted to Vice President & General Counsel in August of 2018 after serving as Vice President & Assistant General Counsel since February 2016. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Denny worked in-house at SEH Offshore, Inc. and Seahawk Drilling, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Denny worked at the international law firms Vinson & Elkins and Fried Frank. Mr. Denny graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Political Science and the Georgetown University Law Center where he received his Juris Doctorate degree.
Mark H. ElliottVice President—Land
Mark H. Elliott joined Laredo in April 2008 as Exploration Manager—Permian Basin and became Vice President—Midland in July 2011 and Vice President—Exploration and Land—Permian in September 2011. He currently holds the title of Vice President—Land. Before joining Laredo, Mr. Elliott served as Vice President of Geology & Exploration for Rex Energy Operating Company's Southwest Region from May 2007 to May 2008. From August 2006 to May 2007, he was a Senior Geologist at Cimarex Energy. In 2004, he joined Latigo in the Midland office as a Senior Geologist and served in that position until the company was sold in 2006. Mr. Elliott has 38 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and throughout his career has served in both staff and management positions. Mr. Elliott graduated from Thiel College with a Bachelor degree in Geology.
Roxy L. ErwinVice President – Production & Supply Chain Management
Roxy L. Erwin joined Laredo in April 2012 as the first Permian Production Engineer for Laredo. She was promoted to Production Engineering Manager in April 2014 and Director – Production in May 2016, before assuming the role of Vice President – Production & Supply Chain Management in October 2018. Prior to joining Laredo, Ms. Erwin worked in various basins across Oklahoma and Texas in operations, production engineering, reservoir engineering and leadership roles for Newfield Exploration, Coho Resources and Mobil. Ms. Erwin currently serves on the Industry Advisory Board for the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy at the University of Oklahoma. Ms. Erwin holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
Daniel H. Gray, Jr.Vice President – Completions
Daniel H. Gray, Jr. joined Laredo in October 2010 as a Senior Completions Engineer. He was promoted to Completions Manager in October 2012 and Director – Completions in May 2016, before assuming the role of Vice President – Completions in October 2018. Mr. Gray has 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has designed and managed completions in basins across the U.S. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Gray spent 5 years working for ConocoPhillips and Burlington Resources focused on completions in the Barnett Shale and Anadarko Basin and 17 years in various engineering capacities with BJ Services supporting drilling and completions projects throughout the U.S. Mr. Gray holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University.
Jason R. GreenwaldVice President—Reservoir Engineering
Jason R. Greenwald joined Laredo in March 2016 as Vice President – Reservoir Engineering. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Greenwald served as Director and Head of Engineering at Simmons & Company International, an energy-focused investment bank. Prior to Simmons, Mr. Greenwald spent 9 years at Hess Corporation, most recently as Senior Manager – Subsurface of the joint venture with the Malaysian national oil company, with prior roles in developments, business planning, and corporate strategy. Prior to Hess, Mr. Greenwald spent 5 years at ExxonMobil, all spent in reservoir engineering roles of increasing responsibility and complexity. Mr. Greenwald holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rice University, a Masters of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, and a Masters of Engineering Management from Northwestern University.
Ronald L. HagoodVice President - Investor Relations
Ronald L. Hagood was named Vice President – Investor Relations in November 2017. He joined Laredo in July 2013 as Director – Investor Relations. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Hagood was an institutional salesman with Scarsdale Equities, focusing on oil and gas exploration and production companies. Additionally, Mr. Hagood worked as an institutional salesman with Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley and Southwest Securities. Mr. Hagood graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
Benjamin C. KleinVice President—Midstream & Marketing
Benjamin C. Klein was named Vice President—Midstream & Marketing in September 2017. He joined Laredo in April 2013 and has been responsible for the negotiation and execution of oil and natural gas marketing contracts and the build-out of infrastructure assets held by Laredo Midstream Services. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Klein spent seven years at Samson Resources Company the majority of which were spent in product marketing roles of increasing responsibility and complexity. Mr. Klein holds a Bachelors in Business Administration in both Accounting and Finance from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University.
Laura M. LundquistVice President—Human Resources
Laura M. Lundquist joined Laredo in April 2012 as Vice President—Human Resources. Ms. Lundquist has 25 years of human resources experience with her former companies including SemGroup Corporation, NORDAM and Williams. Her most recent position was Vice President, Human Resources for SemGroup Corporation. Ms. Lundquist holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Utah, a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Westminster College, and a Master's degree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Oklahoma.
Randy L. ThomasVice President – Drilling & Corporate EH&S
Randy L. Thomas joined Laredo in December 2012 as Drilling Manager. He was promoted to Director – Drilling in May 2016, before assuming the role of Vice President – Drilling and Corporate EH&S in October 2018. Mr. Thomas has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry which includes a variety of operational, technical and management roles at ARCO, Phillips and ConocoPhillips. These roles include both offshore and onshore experience in California, Alaska, West Texas, Oklahoma, GOM, Indonesia and China, primarily related to drilling and completions. Mr. Thomas has supported the American Association of Drilling Engineers since the mid-1980's, serving on local Chapter Boards and the National Board. Mr. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
