Randy A. FoutchChairman & Chief Executive Officer
Randy A. Foutch is our founder and has served as our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since that time. He also served as our President from October 2006 to July 2008. Mr. Foutch has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to our formation, Mr. Foutch founded Latigo Petroleum, Inc. (''Latigo'') in 2001 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer until it was sold to Pogo Producing Co. in May 2006. Previous to Latigo, Mr. Foutch founded Lariat Petroleum, Inc. (''Lariat'') in 1996 and served as its President until January 2001 when it was sold to Newfield Exploration, Inc. He is currently serving on the board of directors of Helmerich & Payne, Inc. and is a member of their Human Resources committee and Nominating & Corporate Governance committee.
Mr. Foutch is also a member of the National Petroleum Council and Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Energy Institute at the University of Texas, Austin. Previously, he served on the board of directors of Cheniere Energy, Bill Barrett Corporation and MacroSolve, Inc. Mr. Foutch also serves on several nonprofit and private industry boards. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Texas and a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston.
Mr. Foutch has been successful in founding other oil and gas companies and has served in director positions of various oil and gas companies. As a result, he provides a strong operational and strategic background and has valuable business, leadership and management experience and insights into many aspects of the operations of exploration and productions companies. Mr. Foutch also brings financial expertise to the board, including his experience in obtaining financing for startup oil and gas companies.
Jason Pigott joined Laredo in May 2019 as President and a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Pigott has more than 20 years of experience in the energy exploration and production industry, most recently serving as Executive Vice President - Operations and Technical Services for Chesapeake Energy where he led all drilling and completions operations, digital operations, supply chain and land efforts. Prior to joining Chesapeake in 2013, he was with Anadarko Petroleum for 14 years, serving in positions of increasing responsibility, focused primarily on onshore unconventional play development in the Eagle Ford Shale, Haynesville Shale, Delaware Basin and various tight-sand plays in East Texas. Mr. Pigott holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
T. Karen ChandlerSenior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
T. Karen Chandler joined Laredo in December 2012 as Director – Operations, Technology & Planning, and was promoted to Vice President – Operations in October 2016, before assuming the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in October 2018. Prior to joining Laredo, Dr. Chandler spent 15 years at ExxonMobil, working in a variety of management and technical roles in the areas of drilling, completions and technology development. These roles included operations experience in the Colorado Piceance Basin, Australia Bass Strait and Papua New Guinea. Dr. Chandler holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Michael T. BeyerSenior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Michael T. Beyer has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since April 2019. He joined Laredo in September 2007 and most recently served as Vice President – Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Beyer has more than 18 years of experience in accounting, with the majority in the energy industry. Prior to joining Laredo, he worked in the tax field and spent five years at a private energy company. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Oklahoma and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2002.
Mark D. DennySenior Vice President - General Counsel & Secretary
Mark D. Denny joined Laredo in February 2013 and was promoted to Senior Vice President - General Counsel & Secretary in April of 2019, most recently serving as Vice President & General Counsel since 2018. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Denny worked in-house at SEH Offshore, Inc. and Seahawk Drilling, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Denny worked at the international law firms Vinson & Elkins and Fried Frank. Mr. Denny graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Political Science and the Georgetown University Law Center where he received his Juris Doctorate degree.
Roxy L. ErwinVice President – Production & Supply Chain Management
Roxy L. Erwin joined Laredo in April 2012 as the first Permian Production Engineer for Laredo. She was promoted to Production Engineering Manager in April 2014 and Director – Production in May 2016, before assuming the role of Vice President – Production & Supply Chain Management in October 2018. Prior to joining Laredo, Ms. Erwin worked in various basins across Oklahoma and Texas in operations, production engineering, reservoir engineering and leadership roles for Newfield Exploration, Coho Resources and Mobil. Ms. Erwin currently serves on the Industry Advisory Board for the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy at the University of Oklahoma. Ms. Erwin holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
Daniel H. Gray, Jr.Vice President – Completions
Daniel H. Gray, Jr. joined Laredo in October 2010 as a Senior Completions Engineer. He was promoted to Completions Manager in October 2012 and Director – Completions in May 2016, before assuming the role of Vice President – Completions in October 2018. Mr. Gray has 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has designed and managed completions in basins across the U.S. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Gray spent 5 years working for ConocoPhillips and Burlington Resources focused on completions in the Barnett Shale and Anadarko Basin and 17 years in various engineering capacities with BJ Services supporting drilling and completions projects throughout the U.S. Mr. Gray holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University.
Ronald L. HagoodVice President - Investor Relations
Ronald L. Hagood was named Vice President – Investor Relations in November 2017. He joined Laredo in July 2013 as Director – Investor Relations. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Hagood was an institutional salesman with Scarsdale Equities, focusing on oil and gas exploration and production companies. Additionally, Mr. Hagood worked as an institutional salesman with Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley and Southwest Securities. Mr. Hagood graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
Benjamin C. KleinVice President—Midstream & Marketing
Benjamin C. Klein was named Vice President—Midstream & Marketing in September 2017. He joined Laredo in April 2013 and has been responsible for the negotiation and execution of oil and natural gas marketing contracts and the build-out of infrastructure assets held by Laredo Midstream Services. Prior to joining Laredo, Mr. Klein spent seven years at Samson Resources Company the majority of which were spent in product marketing roles of increasing responsibility and complexity. Mr. Klein holds a Bachelors in Business Administration in both Accounting and Finance from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University.
Randy L. ThomasVice President – Drilling & Corporate EH&S
Randy L. Thomas joined Laredo in December 2012 as Drilling Manager. He was promoted to Director – Drilling in May 2016, before assuming the role of Vice President – Drilling and Corporate EH&S in October 2018. Mr. Thomas has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry which includes a variety of operational, technical and management roles at ARCO, Phillips and ConocoPhillips. These roles include both offshore and onshore experience in California, Alaska, West Texas, Oklahoma, GOM, Indonesia and China, primarily related to drilling and completions. Mr. Thomas has supported the American Association of Drilling Engineers since the mid-1980's, serving on local Chapter Boards and the National Board. Mr. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
